Utah Code § 63A-20-305

Requirements for health care providers

Enacted by Chapter 436, 2026 General Session

(1) Within two years from the date the first state-endorsed digital identity is issued, a health care provider that receives at least $10,000,000 a year in public funding shall accept a state-endorsed digital identity if the health care provider has a program or system that accepts a digital identity.

(2) A health care provider is not required to accept a state-endorsed digital identity within the time frame described in Subsection (1) if the health care provider:

(a)

(i) demonstrates to the satisfaction of the department that accepting a state-endorsed digital identity at that time is not technically feasible; and

(ii) provides a plan for accepting a state-endorsed digital identity as soon as feasible; or

(b) is required by law to only accept a specific form of state digital identity.
