Utah Code § 73-10-36

Division to provide technical assistance in local government planning

Amended by Chapter 403, 2026 General Session

(1) As used in this section:

(a) "Division" means the Division of Water Resources.

(b) "General plan":

(i) for a municipality, means the same as that term is defined in Section 10-20-102; and

(ii) for a county, means the same as that term is defined in Section 17-79-102.

(c) "Local government" means a county or a municipality, as defined in Section 10-1-104.

(d) "Watershed council" means a council created under Chapter 10g, Part 3, Watershed Councils Act.

(2) The division shall provide technical assistance to a local government to support the local government's adoption of a water use and preservation element in a general plan.

(3) When consulted by a local government for information and technical resources regarding regional water conservation goals under Subsection 10-20-404(2)(d) or 17-79-403(2)(d), the division may seek input from the appropriate watershed council or councils.
