Utah Code § 73-35-101

Definitions

As used in this chapter:

(1) "Authority" means the Colorado River Authority of Utah created by Section 73-35-201.

(2) "Authority member" means a person appointed as a member of the authority under Section 73-35-202 or designated as a member of the authority.

(3) "Chair" means the chair of the authority.

(4) "Colorado River Basin States" means Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.

(5) "Colorado River authority area" means the geographic area designated by Subsection 73-35-202(2).

(6) "Colorado River system" means the entire drainage of the Colorado River in Utah including both the main stem of the Colorado River and the Colorado River's tributaries.

(7) "Department" means the Department of Natural Resources.

(8) "Law of the river" means the compacts, federal laws, treaties, court decisions and decrees, contracts, and regulatory guidelines that underlie and authorize the management and operation of the Colorado River.

(9) "River commissioner" means the person appointed under Section 73-35-301.
