(1)

(a) Except as provided in par. (b), every permit or contract issued under ss. 30.01 to 30.29 for which a time limit is not provided by s. 30.20 (2) is void unless the activity or project is completed within 3 years after the permit or contract was issued.

(b) The department may specify a time limit of less than 3 years for an individual permit or contract issued under ss. 30.01 to 30.29. The department shall extend the time limit for an individual permit or contract issued under ss. 30.01 to 30.29 for no NAVIGABLE WATERS, HARBORS AND NAVIGATION 30.2637 longer than an additional 5 years if the grantee requests an extension prior to expiration of the initial time limit.

(2) For good cause, the department may modify or rescind any permit or contract issued under ss. 30.01 to 30.29 before its expiration.
