The Extension of Admiralty Jurisdiction Act of 1948 extends admiralty jurisdiction to injury or damage on land caused by a vessel on navigable waters — the ship that strikes a bridge or dock. Before it, the locality rule cut admiralty off at the water’s edge. Codified at 46 U.S.C. § 30101.
