Airport Authorities Law

The Airport Authorities Law allows local governments to establish public airport authorities, individually or on a regional basis, and sets out how each authority is constituted and governed — its commissioners and their compensation, meetings and voting, officers, and the proof of its existence and authority. It grants the authority the powers needed to acquire, operate, and dispose of airport property, including eminent domain, the granting of operation and use privileges, the adoption of rules, regulations, and orders, the acceptance of federal and state aid, and a lien on aircraft landing at the airport for unpaid landing fees and other charges, together with exemption from taxation.
