Judicial Code of 1911

The Judicial Code of 1911 reorganized the federal judiciary, finally abolishing the older United States Circuit Courts as trial-level courts (whose work was transferred entirely to the United States District Courts). The Circuit Courts of Appeals created by the Judiciary Act of 1891 retained their appellate role and remained in place.
