The Webb-Kenyon Act of 1913 prohibits shipping intoxicating liquor into a State to be received, possessed, or sold in violation of that State’s laws — closing the gap the Wilson Act left for direct-to-consumer shipments. Passed over President Taft’s veto, it was upheld in Clark Distilling Co. v. Western Maryland Railway (1917) and is codified at 27 U.S.C. § 122.
