The Wilson Act of 1890 subjects intoxicating liquors shipped into a State to that State’s police-power laws upon arrival, stripping the interstate-commerce protection that the “original package” doctrine had given them. It was Congress’s first major answer to the Supreme Court’s liquor-commerce cases and remains codified at 27 U.S.C. § 121.
