View current version →The Secretary of Defense may by regulation establish a merit pay system for such employees of the Defense Intelligence Agency and Central Imagery Office as the Secretary considers appropriate. The merit pay system shall be designed to carry out purposes consistent with those set forth in section 5401 1 of title 5, as in effect on October 31, 1993.

Effective Date of 1993 Amendment

Effective Date of 1984 Amendment
Section 205 of Pub. L. 98–615 provided that amendment by Pub. L. 98–615 was effective Oct. 1, 1984, and applicable with respect to pay periods commencing on or after that date, with certain exceptions and qualifications.
