Nick Bundhund was garnished in justice court. From the judgment entered against him he appealed to the district court for Pennington county, where he made disclosure de novo, and Grindeland, J., ordered judgment against him for $99.7á and costs. From the judgment entered pursuant to the order for judgment, garnishee appealed.

Action in tbe district court for Olmsted county to recover $30,000 for personal injuries. Tbe case was tried before Callaghan, J., who at the close of the testimony directed a verdict in favor of defendant. From an order denying his motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or for a new trial, plaintiff appealed.

Action in the district court for Ramsey county to recover $2,628.41 for breach of contract. The answer denied that defendant ever agreed to a modification of the agreement of May 6, 1920. The case was tried before Gatlin, J., who at the close of the testimony granted defendant’s motion for a directed verdict. From an order denying its motion for a new trial, plaintiff appealed.

Action in the district court for Freeborn county to recover $1,166.47, the unpaid purchase price of certain farm land. The defense set up in the answer will be found in the first paragraph of the opinion. The case was tried before Catherwood, J., who at the close of the testimony denied plaintiff’s motion for a directed verdict and a jury which returned a verdict in favor of defendant for $433.53.

Action in the district court for Ramsey county to recover $7,500 upon an accident insurance policy. The answer admitted the injuries, but alleged they were not sustained during the term of the policy. The case was tried before Olin B. Lewis, J., who at the ■ close of the testimony denied plaintiff’s motion for a directed verdict and granted defendant’s motion for a directed verdict.

Criminal complaint was made to the municipal court of Minneapolis charging defendant with carrying on its undertaking business at specified premises without first obtaining a permit from the city council so to do. A warrant was issued, defendant was arrested, tried in the municipal court before Reed, J., and found guilty as charged and fined $100.

Defendant and others were indicted by the grand jury of Ramsey county charged with the crime of assault in the second degree. Defendant Hurst was tried separately in the district court for that county before Catlin J., and a jury which found him guilty as charged in the indictment. From the judgment entered pursuant to the verdict, defendant appealed.

Defendants were indicted by the grand jury of Hennepin county charged with the crime of grand larceny in the first degree, tried in the district court for that county before Montgomery J., who when defendants rested denied their separate motions to dismiss, and a jury which found them guilty as charged in the indictment. From an order denying their separate motions for a new trial, defendants appealed.

Action in the district court for Bamsey county to recover $15,000 for injuries received in falling down an unlighted stairway in defendant’s apartment house. The case was tried before Hanft, J., who at the close of the testimony denied defendant’s motion for a directed verdict, and a jury which returned a verdict in favor of defendant. From an order denying her motion. for a new trial, plaintiff appealed.
