Lat. [from accedere, q. v.] An accessory, or accessary. Accessorius sequitur naturam sui principalis. An accessary follows the nature of his principal. 3 Inst. 139. An accessary cannot be guilty of a higher crime than his principal. Accessorium sequitur principale. An accessary follows, or depends upon the principal. 4 Co. 44. Where there is no principal, there can be no accessary.
