Ex Scriptis Olim Visis

A term used us deseriptive of that kind of proof of handwriting where the knowledge bas been acquired by the witness having seen letters or other doeuments professing to be the handwriting of the party, and baving afterwards communicated personally with the party upon the contents of those letters or documents, or having otherwise acted upon them by written answers, producing further correspondence or acquiescence by the party in some matter to which they relate, or by the witness transacting with the party some business La which they relate, or by any other motile of communication between the party and the witness which, in the ordinary course of the transactions of lite, induces a reasonable presumption that the letters or documents were the hindwriting of the party.
