Lat From writings formerly seen. A term used as descriptive of that kind of proof of handwriting, where the witness has seen letters or documents professing to be the handwriting of a party, and has afterwards had correspondence or communication with such party, so as to induce a reasonable presumption that the letters or documents were actually his handwriting.
