Indorsement Indorsement by a magistrate. Backing a warrant becomes necessary when it is desired to serve it in a county other than that in which it was first issued. In such a case the indorsement of a magistrate of the new county authorizes its service there as fully as if first issued in that county. The custom prevails in England, Scotland, and some of the United States.
