The name of a court erected in the twenty-seventh year of King Henry VIII., for the purpose of protecting the kind's interests, in relation to the profits of sup* jvessed religious houses and their lands, g^ven him by act of parliament of the same year. So called from the augmentation of the revenues of the crown, derived from the suppPMsion of such houses.* Termes de la 20)r«!
