A prison in London, so called from Fleet river or ditch, near which it stood.

Formerly the prison of the court of chancery and the common pleas.
Now, by statutes 5 & 6 Vict. c. 22, 6 & 7 Vict. c.
20, consolidated with the Queen's Bench and Marshalsea prisons into one, called the Queen's Prison, which is made the prison of all ihe courts.
