The Cyclopedic Law Dictionary
A pond (q. v.) A combination of independent persons or corporations for the division of earnings. See "Pooling Contract." A pool or trust is a combination having the intention and power, or tendency, to monopolize business, or to control production, or to interferfe with trade, or to fix and regulate prices, and the like. The primary object of a pool or trust is to secure a monopoly. The law does not call for proof of monopoly in order to declare such combinations unlawful.
