The meaning of the word purposely, as used in the statutory definition of murder, may be fully expressed in an indictment by the words " with intent," or by " feloniously." Carder V. State, 17 Ind. 307. As used in the statute defining murder of the second degree, " purposely " means intentionally and designedly. To constitute murder in the second degree, the intention, design, or purpose to perpetrate it must be formed before the act is committed. Fahnestock v. State, 23 Ind. 231, 262.
