Mills River is a town located in Henderson County, North Carolina. It is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. It lies in the western part of the county, covering roughly 22 square miles, and located near Etowah and Fletcher. It is home to approximately 7,000 people, and it was incorporated into a city in 2003, mostly thanks to the efforts of fireman Roger Snyder, who is now the current mayor. Mills River is the second largest town in Henderson County, and it is home to one river, the Mills River, and three schools, Mills River Elementary, Glenn C. Marlow Elementary, and West Henderson High School. The majority of the town's inhabitants are either Methodist or Baptist.
