Killington is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,095 at the 2000 census. Killington Ski Resort is located here. The town was previously named Sherburne, but on March 2, 1999, the town voted to change its name to Killington. This was approved by the Vermont General Assembly on April 27, 1999.
