Greenbackville is a small unincorporated community 4.5 miles (5 km) south of Stockton, Maryland in Accomack County, Virginia, located just south of the Maryland state line at 38°0′32″N 75°23′30″W / 38.00889°N 75.39167°W / 38.00889; -75.39167. The town was settled in 1867 and was officially named "Greenbackville" by the United States Postal Service in 1874.
