Car accidents are cases involving people who have suffered an injury in a traffic accident for which another driver may be at fault. A traffic collision may affect other vehicles, their occupants, and pedestrians, animals and may result in injury, property damage and/or death. A number of factors contribute to the risk of collision including; vehicle design, speed of operation, road design, and driver impairment. The city's prominence despite this comes from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, its position along numerous railroad lines, a strong industrial and financial sector, and its status as a major inland port (due largely to the presence of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, one of the largest and busiest in the world). It was rated as a beta world city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network.
