Monroeville is a city in Monroe County, Alabama, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 6,862. The city is the county seat of Monroe County. It's known as the home to Pulitzer prize-winning Harper Lee, an author most famous for her writing of To Kill A Mockingbird.
