Buxton is a town in York County, Maine, United States. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 7,452. Buxton includes the villages of Salmon Falls, Chicopee, Groveville, Bar Mills, West Buxton and Buxton Center.
