Wellsburg is a village in Chemung County, New York, United States. The population was 631 at the 2000 census. The village is named after a pioneer family. The Village of Wellsburg is located in the Town of Ashland. The village is located in the southeast part of the town. It is part of the 'Elmira, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area' and is southeast of the City of Elmira.
