A short-tenured postmaster renamed the community Ruby after his wife but the name was reversed soon thereafter. Fraziers Bottom was a quiet, rural area for decades, but that begin to change when Toyota built a manufacturing facility across the river in Buffalo. Affiliated light manufacturing has populated industrial parks in some of the very "bottomland" that gave the community part of its' name.
