This post office has a complicated name history: it opened as Sand Ridge, changed to Green Bay on 1849-09-17, to Jollyville on 1859-01-28, and finally to Wever on 1870-10-17. The community is part of the Fort Madison–Keokuk, IA-MO Micropolitan Statistical Area.
