Belmont is a city in Pleasants County, West Virginia, in the United States. It is part of the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,036 at the 2000 census. Belmont was incorporated on April 19, 1946 by the Circuit Court of Pleasants County. The city was named for the beautiful hills in the area.
