Cartersville is a city in Bartow County, Georgia, in the United States. It was named after Col. Farish Carter. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 29,925. Growth is evident as the community's population rose to 41,234 as of the 2005 mid-census estimate. Cartersville could become a micropolitan area in the near future.
