Ellsworth is a village in Dawson Township, McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 271 at the 2000 United States Census. It is part of the Bloomington–Normal Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town is named after Col. Elmer E. Ellsworth, a Union officer considered to be the first casualty of the Civil War.
