In a criminal case, the state, through a prosecutor, initiates the suit, while in a civil case the victim brings the suit. Persons convicted of a crime may be incarcerated, fined, or both. Criminal defense attorneys represent clients who have been accused of committing a crime, and defend their rights at each stage of a misdemeanor or felony case -- from an arrest to an appeal after conviction. Frazee is a city in Becker County, Minnesota, United States. It is the second most populous city in Becker County. The population was 1,377 at the 2000 census. Originally named Detroit and later Third Crossing before adopting its present name of Frazee, the plat of the old town site was made on May 27, 1857. With Becker County not formally organized until 1871, it was the earliest settlement in the area. The city was officially incorporated on January 6, 1891. It was named after R.L. Frazee, an early settler who moved his milling business from Ohio to the early settlement that today bears his name. Today it is best known as the home of "Big Tom: the World's Largest Turkey."
