Riparius is a hamlet in the Upper Hudson River Valley of Warren County, New York, United States. Riparius was formerly known as Riverside until the state changed the name to prevent confusion with several other places of the same name. "Riparius" is a Latin equivalent for "Riverside". Riparius is located within the towns of Johnsburg and Chester. Riparius is currently the terminus of the Upper Hudson River Railroad, a tourist train which departs from North Creek during summer months. The "Riverside Station" is a nationally listed historic landmark.
What is criminal defense law?
In a criminal case, the state, through a prosecutor, initiates the suit, while in a civil case the victim brings the suit. Persons convicted of a crime may be incarcerated, fined, or both. Criminal defense attorneys represent clients who have been accused of committing a crime, and defend their rights at each stage of a misdemeanor or felony case -- from an arrest to an appeal after conviction. Criminal defense attorneys may be hired privately or provided by the government (called "public defenders").
