Cable is a town in Bayfield County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 836 at the 2000 census. Cable is best known as the starting point of the American Birkebeiner cross-country skiing race and the end point of the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival Mountain Bike race. U.S. Highway 63 serves as a main arterial route in the community.
