Cases involving injuries to cruise ship passengers may include injuries, deaths, missing passengers who apparently fell in the ocean, passengers being hit by falling objects, food poisoning, being thrown by rough seas due to the neglect of the captain and nearly every other conceivable type of injury possible on land can exist on cruise ships. Injuries also occur when passengers leave the ship to visit ports of call. Cruise ships arrange and promote tours, trips, scuba, fishing and other activities and sometimes they do not check out or monitor the safety of these companies that provide the services the cruise ship sells to the passengers.
Savanna is a city in Carroll County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,542 at the 2000 census. As of 2005 census estimates, the population had decreased to 3,288. Savanna is located along the Mississippi River at the mouth of the Plum River. Going from north to south, the second automobile bridge between Iowa and Illinois is located just north of Savanna, and is part of the U.S. Highway 52 route. The bridge leads to Sabula, Iowa, which is across the river from Savanna. U.S. Highway 52 goes through Savanna. Savanna has produced several notable natives. These include "America's Waltz King" Wayne King, professional wrestler Tommy Treichel, guitarist Billy Zoom (Tyson Kindell), and former NASA astronaut Dale Gardner.
