Mount Carmel is a town located in Hawkins County, Tennessee. As of the 2005 estimate, the town had a total population of 5,500. It is part of the Kingsport–Bristol (TN)–Bristol (VA) Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City–Kingsport–Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region. The population of Mount Carmel, Church Hill and surrounding area is well over 30,000 and is the fastest growing area in upper East Tennessee.
