Chocorua is a village within the town of Tamworth in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located in the general area where Routes 16 and 113 meet, south of Mount Chocorua and Chocorua Lake. New Hampshire's first Poet Laureate, Paul Scott Mowrer, lived in the village of Chocorua with his wife, Hadley Richardson. It is the place of death of William James, philosopher and founder of experimental psychology in the United States.
