Fort Oglethorpe is a city in Catoosa County in the U.S. state of Georgia. The population was 6,940 at the 2000 census – 6,755 of the city's 6,940 residents (97.3%) lived in Catoosa County and 185 (2.7%) in Walker County. It is part of the Chattanooga, TN–GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.
