It is an affluent exurban community and is part of the Akron, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area according to the U.S. Census Bureau, but is also commonly considered a Cleveland suburb. It is also part of the larger Cleveland-Akron-Elyria Combined Statistical Area.
