Inman is a city in McPherson County, Kansas, United States. The population was 1,142 at the 2000 census. It was founded in 1887 as Aiken. It was renamed Inman, in 1889, after Inman Lake which is located approximately 4 miles (6 km) east of the town. The lake was named after its initial surveyor, Major Henry Inman.
