Bowlegs is a town in Seminole County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 371 at the 2000 census. Bowlegs was named after an early resident, Lula Bowlegs, a descendant of the Florida Seminole Chief Billy Bowlegs. It has been a popular misconception that the town was named after the chief.
