Greenfield is a village in Highland, Fayette, and Ross counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, along Paint Creek. The population was 4,906 at the 2000 census. Although the municipality is listed as a city by the Census Bureau, it officially became a village when its population dropped below 5,000.
