As with surrounding Wake County, North Carolina, the City of Rolesville was experiencing rapid growth both before and after the 2000 census. An estimate made by the town government, based on approved developments, projected the population to be 7,813 residents by 2010. There are three properties in Rolesville that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places: Dr. Lawrence Branch Young House, Green-Hartsfield House and the Heartsfield-Perry Farm.
