Huntington Station is a hamlet in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 29,910 at the 2000 census. Huntington Station is a community in the Town of Huntington. It was named for its railroad station, and was originally known as "Fairground. " Huntington Station was also the birthplace of poet Walt Whitman. His home remains there as a museum. Across from the museum on Rt 110 is the Walt Whitman Mall.
