Bedford is a city in Trimble County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 677 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Trimble County. It is located at the junction of U.S. Routes 42 and 421. It is named for Bedford, Virginia, former home of the first settler, Richard Ball, who built a house near what he called Bedford Spring in 1805. The town was founded in 1816 but not incorporated until 1850.
