In a merger, the company that continues to exist retains its name and identity and acquires the assets, liabilities, franchises, and powers of the corporation that ceases to exist. Woosung is an unincorporated community in Ogle County, Illinois, U.S. , and is located in the far southwestern part of the county, northwest of Dixon. Woosung was founded in June 1855 by 3 retiring sea captains. They named it after Wusong, China.
