Native Peoples Law is the area of law related to those peoples indigenous to the continent at the time of European colonization specifically Native Indians, Native Hawaiians, Alaska Natives and other native groups. Attorneys who practice native peoples law handle cases involving disputes related to the limited power of the federal government to regulate tribe property and activity, and cases involving unlawful discrimination against native peoples.
Massapequa is a hamlet located in Nassau County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 22,652. Massapequa is a suburb on the South Shore of Long Island in the Town of Oyster Bay. For many years it was reported that Massapequa was one of the 13 tribes of Long Island. Later research says that it was just a Native American name for the location.
