A non-profit organization (abbreviated as NPO, also known as a not-for-profit organization) is an organization that does not distribute its surplus funds to owners or shareholders, but instead uses them to help pursue its goals. Chefornak, sits on Chaputnguak; the old village site of Chefornak is about two miles down river from the new village site. The village was moved to the new site due to flooding that occurred annually. Chefornak is a city in Bethel Census Area, Alaska, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 394.
