Lewisport is a city in Hancock County, Kentucky, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 1,639 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Owensboro, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lewisport's mayor is currently Chad Gregory. Founded in 1839, Lewisport is named for an early settler, Dr. John Lewis. Lewisport's is where Abraham Lincoln won his first law case in the "Pate Home", which at the time was the site of the circuit court.
