Potter is a village in Cheyenne County, Nebraska, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 390. On July 6, 1928 the then world's largest hailstone fell in Potter - the diameter was 5½ inches, and it weighed 1½ pounds. When cut in half it was found to be a single hailstone rather than several frozen together. The Tin-Roof Sundae was invented in Potter.
